Garbage Services Cancelled due to Approaching Hurricane Sally

MONDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE

ALL RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL GARBAGE ROUTES FOR TUESDAY HAVE BEEN CANCELLED!

Based on the current information that we have received – we have made the decision to NOT running any of our Residential and Commercial Garbage Routes tomorrow – Tuesday, September 15th. Please do not put your cart(s) to the curb tonight or tomorrow morning. Please place your cart(s) in a safe and secure location.

We were holding out until the last minute hoping that the eastward shifts would take our area out of harm’s way. However, with so much uncertainty surrounding Hurricane Sally in regards to the track, wind speed, rain and high water in low lying areas, we could not risk the safety of our Drivers, Helpers and all other TEAM members. We have several Drivers, Helpers, Mechanics and Administrative employees that live in Picayune, Bay St. Louis, Gulfport and areas that are prone to flooding here in St. Tammany Parish. We hope that all of our customers understand the situation and support us in making the decision that is best for the safety of our employees. We will continue to monitor the track and intensity of Hurricane Sally before making any decisions about the schedule for Wednesday.

For all customers that are normally collected 2x per week on Tuesday and Friday – we will be collecting your garbage on the 2nd collection day this week which will be on Friday September 18th. Please continue to monitor our Facebook page and website in the event there may be any changes. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to adjust schedules due to Hurricane Sally.

MONDAY ROUTES

As of 1:30 pm, our Drivers and Helpers are still out in the field running their normal Monday garbage routes. Once your cart is emptied we ask that you please remove it from the curb and place your cart in a safe and secure location.

RECYCLING CANCELLED

All recycling routes have been cancelled for this week. We will resume collecting recyclables next week starting on Monday September 21st.

Please continue to monitor our Facebook page and website for further updates concerning the schedules for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience this week. The path and speed of Hurricane Sally has changed so many times in a short period of time that is makes it forces us to make very difficult decisions as we have to consider the safety of our employees and their families as well as adjust schedules so that we can at least get every customers garbage emptied at least once this week.
