WASTE COLLECTION DAYS

FOR THE CITY OF COVINGTON

Waste Collections Day for the City of Covington is:
Wednesday 

As a reminder, we ask that you put your Garbage cart out the night before your scheduled pick-up day or prior to 6:00 am on your scheduled day for service.

An additional cart may be purchased for $85 plus a $20 delivery fee or you can purchase an extra, similar, 85-gallon cart from your local Hardware Store.

For Recycling
:

Please remember to put your recycling cart/bin out the night prior to service. Remove your recycling cart/bin from the curb once your cart bin has been serviced. If your recycling cart/bin is at the curb on your scheduled garbage day, your recycling cart/bin will be dumped with the garbage.

DEBRIS PILES/GREEN WASTE

We pick up Green Waste twice monthly.  Residents may call Coastal Environmental Services directly at 985-781-3171 to schedule a pickup for a large pile.  It may take up to two weeks for removal.

Green waste defined:  Grass, leaves, flowers, stalks, stems, Christmas trees, and tree trimmings that are generated by a Producer and not by a third-party contractor or commercial tree cutter.  Tree trunks and limbs shall not exceed 50 lbs. in weight or 12” in diameter.  Trees, limbs, branches, etc. need not be bundled or tied.  Leaves should be containerized or bagged.  All of the preceding in a pile not to exceed 15’ long, 6’ wide, and 5’ high.

KNOW YOUR PLASTICS

PET 1 includes soda and water bottles, food containers, personal care products, liquid hand soap, and shampoo bottles.

The easiest way to tell what type of plastic you are dealing with is to look
on the item and find the recycling logo with a number inside.

KNOW YOUR PLASTICS

HDPE 2 includes milk jugs, coffee containers, condiment bottles and detergent bottles.

We accepts all HDPE containers but do not accept grocery bags.

If you cannot find a 1 or 2 on the plastic then it is best to not throw it in the recycle bin.
